MONSOON SEASON

The Monsoon Season, formerly known as Summer, hit the Newark International Antiques Fair this week, so I spent most of my time hunting for treasures in the cattle sheds, which were transformed from their usual down to earth use by many  interesting and elegant stands.

Our chic friend John insisted on showing me his new tattoos, completely destroying my concentration...

...Oh please John, put them away!

  3. With the passage of time... The dragons will droop. Think of all the lovely things you could buy with the money.

  4. How strange is that? Just after reading this post on your blog, my eye was caught by your 'Valuable Jewellery is not my Style' post back in December. And yes, you've guessed it, your mention of Liberty Bodices caught my eye and the very same Google photo... Weird or wot? We're from a similar era I suppose and our minds work in the same way.

I love the idea of a friendship necklace; as I was reading, I instantly thought I've got just the bead to send.

Must visit there soon, it's is not as if I haven't been told enough times!

    1. Yes - I think our minds have quite a few thoughts & ideas in common. By the way, Smallhythe is shut on a Friday which surprised & disappointed us last week.

    1. Thank you Janice - the antiques trade is very busy and competitive in the UK at the moment. Hope you had some luck at your flea market.

  6. Dear Nilly, love the resourcefulness of the organisers - what a fantastic set of display stands, with some very interesting stuff on show...I am in love with those spotty red jugs/vases. As for the tattooes... well, not my thing but love the 'cheeky', as opposed to 'chic' look of their owner.

He's not got a bad pair of pins really - not so keen on the scary t-shirt though!
