IT'S A MAN THING

I've said it before, I know, but the top-most room at Nilly Towers, with its prime position on the Great North Road, affords a view of all manner of bizarre and bewildering activities (quite handy if you have time for an addiction to curtain twitching.) This was the scene at midday on Saturday.

"Quick Daddy, they might go before we get there!"

This is a serious business!

We never did find out who ploughed the straightest furrow, but they all looked very smart - except for my rusty antique favourite, there, in the middle!

  1. The rusty one is what the experts call "in farmyard condition"! I'm surprised if there were no women competing as there are plenty of women tractor drivers these days. Love the picture of the little chap with his dad.

  2. I'm glad there are still ploughing contests. I have seen a few of the 'old fashioned' ones with the heavy horses but am so glad it continues. I do love to see a field been ploughed with the birds all swooping behind the tractor. Jane xx

  3. It's a man thing indeed! A tractor is on Mr Cloth Shed's list of will have one day. No idea why.... We don't have a farm, don't need to plough anything and no where to store one.
I am with you on the rusty tractor xx

Breathtakingly Beautiful... there is something about Natural and Agricultural settings that I find to be so filled with Serenity that I could gaze at them for hours and Restore the Soul with the Imagery of.
