The farm is still excellent with its free-range piglets etc!nillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09733433402466612700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444887571509926414.post-802512174138688872015-04-07T14:53:02.843-07:002015-04-07T14:53:02.843-07:00That's my favourite painting too! Worryingly, staff levels at the house seem to be diminishing leading to the closure of several rooms on the day we were there - and more dust than usual. They could do with your services as a cleaner, I think!nillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09733433402466612700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444887571509926414.post-36986914492221204722015-04-01T10:39:10.831-07:002015-04-01T10:39:10.831-07:00A particularly interesting post and, you said we d...A particularly interesting post and, you said we dealers, not us dealers, which was music to my senses, thank you so much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444887571509926414.post-38170781379084766282015-04-01T07:07:11.443-07:002015-04-01T07:07:11.443-07:00Fab post Nilly. I am now going to have a scout through to see what you've been up to and what other fascinating tidbits of information you have shared.
AxxxArtyZenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12628693178003940118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444887571509926414.post-62900226444216910292015-04-01T00:59:25.798-07:002015-04-01T00:59:25.798-07:00THANK YOU! Leeds 'rates' payers got in free and it was, to me, the most beautiful place on Earth.

My career ambition was to be a cleaner there and polish all that wonderful smelling furniture and the main staircase! Sadly, I became a teacher and psychologist instead, but remember my all-consuming desire to be allowed to go beyond the guide ropes, and work beside the huge four-poste beds and handle the textiles. It did lead to me taking a Royal School of Needlework qualification when I lived in London but, sadly, I never went any further.

I have a repro of the painting of the little boy in skirts with his pet squirrel hanging in my bedroom - I loved it so much and would stand under it and hold silent 'converations' with him. Wonder if he's still there and if people still fail to read about his dress and think him a little girl?

Even without gong into the house, the gardens are worth a visit in the summerjenannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00321001863688006661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444887571509926414.post-11999414616088927142015-04-01T00:29:21.161-07:002015-04-01T00:29:21.161-07:00Yes, I had heard about this but had forgotten.
